PulsarVoice Acceptable Use Policy

1. About this Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") sets out the rules for using PulsarVoice, a free desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux published by PulsarOS Intelligence Inc. ("PulsarOS", "we", "us", or "our"), a Canadian federal corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (corporation number 17777191, business number 730610631RC0001).

PulsarVoice gives terminal based AI agents a local voice: the agent speaks its work out loud and hears your spoken replies, with many agents able to share one microphone in an orderly way. You download PulsarVoice from voice.pulsaros.ca, and it runs entirely on your own computer.

This Policy works together with the PulsarVoice End User License Agreement (the "EULA") and the PulsarVoice Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict between this Policy and the EULA on a matter of licensing rights, the EULA governs. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given to them in the EULA.

By downloading, installing, or using PulsarVoice, you agree to follow this Policy.

2. Who this Policy applies to

This Policy applies to every person and organization that downloads, installs, or uses PulsarVoice, whether for personal or commercial purposes. PulsarVoice is free to download and use at no cost, but it is licensed, not sold, and your use remains subject to this Policy at all times.

3. The nature of the product (so the rules make sense)

A few facts about how PulsarVoice works explain why some of the rules below exist:

Because PulsarVoice runs on your computer and listens through your microphone, you are responsible for how you use it. The rules below set the boundaries.

4. What you may do

Subject to the EULA and this Policy, you may install and run PulsarVoice on computers you own or control, for your own personal or commercial purposes, at no cost. You are responsible for your use of the software and for any activity that takes place through your copy of it.

5. What you may not do

5.1 No unlawful use

You may not use PulsarVoice for any purpose that is unlawful, or to facilitate, encourage, or carry out any unlawful act. This includes any use that violates applicable local, provincial, state, national, or international laws or regulations, including laws on privacy, surveillance, recording of communications, intellectual property, export controls, and computer misuse.

5.2 No harassment, deception, or harm

You may not use PulsarVoice:

PulsarVoice converts text to speech and speech to text on your device. You are solely responsible for the content you produce and for how you use any synthesized voice output.

5.3 Respect the privacy and consent of others when recording audio

PulsarVoice listens through your microphone so that an AI agent can hear your spoken replies. The microphone may also capture the voices of other people who are present.

You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent required to record, capture, or process audio in your jurisdiction and in your setting. Laws on recording vary widely: some places require the consent of all parties to a conversation, others require the consent of at least one party, and many workplaces, schools, and public venues have their own rules. Before you use PulsarVoice in any situation where other people may be heard, you must:

PulsarOS does not receive your microphone audio and cannot grant or manage consent on your behalf. Responsibility for lawful and respectful recording rests entirely with you.

5.4 No reverse engineering or circumventing integrity protections

Except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction, you may not:

If your jurisdiction grants you a non waivable right to reverse engineer for a specific purpose (such as interoperability), you must first contact us in writing at [legal@pulsaros.ca] and give us a reasonable opportunity to provide the information you need.

5.5 No redistribution or rebranding

PulsarVoice is proprietary. It is not open source. The source code, the design, the application, and any models authored by PulsarOS are the property of PulsarOS Intelligence Inc. You may install and run PulsarVoice, but you may not:

People who want a copy should download it themselves from voice.pulsaros.ca.

5.6 No use to build a competing product

You may not use PulsarVoice, or any part of it, to design, develop, train, or build a product or service that competes with PulsarVoice. This includes using PulsarVoice to extract, study, or replicate its design, behavior, models, or output for the purpose of creating a competing offering.

5.7 No modification beyond your own permitted use

You may not modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of PulsarVoice or of the PulsarOS models included with it, except where this Policy or the EULA expressly allows, or where applicable law permits despite this restriction. Reading, backing up, or deleting your own local data files is permitted and is not a prohibited modification of the software.

5.8 Respect the licenses of the bundled third-party components

PulsarVoice includes and uses third-party software components, each governed by its own license. Those licenses are summarized in the PulsarVoice Third-Party Notices document. You must comply with the terms of every applicable third-party license when you use PulsarVoice, including any attribution requirements. Nothing in this Policy reduces, expands, or replaces your obligations under those third-party licenses.

5.9 No misuse of the software or other people's systems

You may not use PulsarVoice to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, or interfere with any computer system, network, account, or data, or to introduce malware or otherwise compromise the security of any system.

6. Responsibility for AI agent behavior

PulsarVoice gives a voice to terminal based AI agents that you choose to run. The AI agents, the prompts you give them, and the actions they take are under your control and are your responsibility. PulsarVoice provides the local voice layer; it does not direct, supervise, or take responsibility for what your agents say or do. You must ensure that your use of any AI agent through PulsarVoice complies with this Policy and with applicable law.

7. Privacy and data protection context

PulsarVoice is designed to collect no personal data and to keep your audio, transcripts, and text on your own device. We do not operate servers for the running product, and we do not receive your content.

Because the product collects no personal data through normal operation, most data protection obligations are satisfied by design. Full details are in the PulsarVoice Privacy Policy. The download and information website at voice.pulsaros.ca is a static site with no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking.

8. Enforcement and consequences

Your right to use PulsarVoice is conditional on your compliance with this Policy and the EULA. If you violate this Policy, your license to use PulsarVoice may terminate automatically as set out in the EULA, and you must stop using the software and remove it from your devices.

Because PulsarVoice runs locally and we operate no servers for the running product, we generally have no technical ability to monitor, suspend, or disable individual installations. Enforcement is therefore primarily through the terms of the EULA and applicable law. We reserve all rights and remedies available to us, including the right to seek injunctive relief and damages for violations that involve our intellectual property, our integrity protections, or the rights of third parties.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the product, in the bundled components, or in applicable law. When we make a material change, we will post the updated Policy at voice.pulsaros.ca and revise the effective date above. Your continued use of PulsarVoice after an updated Policy takes effect means you accept the changes. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using PulsarVoice.

10. Governing law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of [ONTARIO] and the federal laws of Canada applicable in that province, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Subject to any non waivable rights you have under the laws of your place of residence, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [ONTARIO], Canada for any dispute arising out of or relating to this Policy or your use of PulsarVoice.
